This is just painful to watch.  This guy manages to throw away thousands of dollars in just a few seconds...  And he never makes it out of the parking lot!!!

If you, or someone you know is thinking about buying his/her first motorcycle, definitely take note.  This little video is a perfect illustration of one of the most important tips for first-time buyers:

Do not buy more bike than you can ride.

A general guideline is to start with something in the 500cc or lower engine class.  They’re much lighter and generally more nimble than a 700+ pounder like the one the guy above bought.  And they’re FAR cheaper, so if you DO manage to do something dumb (and most first-timers will make a few mistakes here and there), it won’t cost you $30,000.00 to replace or repair your motorcycle.

Also, it’s always a good idea to take one of the Riders’ Safety Courses before you even buy your bike.  Those courses are very helpful, and they will even lower your insurance costs. (Not to mention, it could end up saving your life.)

I still can’t get over that video though.

This guy makes a Harley bagger his first bike...  Oops.
